At the edge of the sea, on the cape between Santa Margherita and Portofino, La Cervara is an abbey built in 1361 by a group of Benedictine monks. It has come to us throughout a very long and troubled history and finally brought back, in recent years, to its ancient splendour. In 1912 the abbey was declared National Memorial. Today it hosts a lot of cultural events.

Its monumental Italian garden, leaned over the sea, it’s unique and extends on two levels, connected by arbours and rungs.
